VA Appraisal Overview

Notice of Value (NOV)
  1. Must be issued within 5 days of receipt of appraisal. This is utilized by an UW that is certified by VA to issue the NOV.
  2. Review the NOV for any appraisal conditions.
  3. Copy of NOV must be provided to the borrower with a copy of Appraisal. Note:  Do not provide a copy of the appraisal to the borrower until the NOV has been issued. Be sure to know your company’s policies on appraisal delivery procedures.
  4. VA Appraisals can be disputed directly through your Regional VA Loan Center (RLC). Contact your local RLC for instructions.
